Femi Taiwo, Director of Programmes/Acting Executive Director
Femi currently serves as the Director of Programmes and Acting Executive Director of LEAP Africa- Nigeria’s foremost youth leadership development organisation. In this role he oversees the administration, strategy implementation and programme delivery of the organisation. Prior to this position at LEAP, Femi was the founding Executive Director of Eagles HOPE Foundation, a non-profit initiated by the Covenant University Alumni Association, where he led the organisation to create and execute award-winning youth programmes. Femi has worked in GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals and spent a year at a social research consultancy in the United Kingdom.
He has extensive skills in programme design and management, learning & development design and delivery, business development, strategy, organisational development, stakeholder management, and innovation management. Femi is extremely passionate about leadership and enterprise development, youth development and youth-led development. He is on a personal mission of facilitating the transformation of individuals, organisations and nations.
Femi holds an MSc degree in Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship from Manchester Business School, where he focused his research on social innovation and entrepreneurship. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at Covenant University, where he earned a first class degree in Computer Science.
Temitope Richard-Banji, Manager, Biz LEAP
Temitope Richard-Banji is the Programme Manager for Biz LEAP. He is passionate about Enterprise Development and strongly believes in the next generation as innovative change agents for Africa.
He is a graduate of Nottingham Business School, UK, where he obtained an MSc in Management and Investment Strategies. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Babcock University. Temitope is an Associate Chattered Economist of the Institute of Chattered Economist of Nigeria and a First Line Management professional of the Institute of Leadership and Management, (ILM) UK.
Prior to joining LEAP Africa, he worked as a Management Consultant for BMC Global Services, Nottingham and RB Alliance Consulting, Nottingham. He has also worked as the Client Relationship Associate for Domestic and General Insurance, Wimbledon, UK and other financial institutions in Nigeria.
His core competencies are in Learning and Development, Organizational & Social Development and Management Consultancy. His vision is to become a world renowned Social Entrepreneur and Consultant for non-profit organizations as well as the entire value chain of the Development Industry.
Femi Balogun, Manager, Monitoring & Evaluation
Femi Balogun is the Manager – Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning at LEAP Africa. He is a leadership and development professional with experience in managing research and establishing communities of practice around policy issues in Kenya and Nigeria.
Femi holds a Masters degree in Security, Leadership and Society from King’s College London, a professional Masters degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Lagos, and a BSc in International Relations from Covenant University.
Femi has 7 years private sector experience in banking and telecommunications before transiting to development work. He is an academic with research interests in leadership, youth empowerment, human rights and post-conflict urban security. ‘Femi is a member of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, a recipient of the Carnegie funded Peace, Security and Development Scholarship, and is a fellow at the African Leadership Centre (ALC), as well as the International Peace Institute (IPI), New York.
Femi’s career objective is to help young people realize their leadership potentials.
Suyi Okungbowa, Manager, e-LEAP
Suyi Okungbowa is a Creative Digital Communications Strategist occupying the intersection between Marketing Communications, Design & Tech, with experience in visual communications, digital content and marketing for four years. He is presently the Manager for eLEAP, responsible for aiding opportunity and learning through tech by helping LEAP capture its audiences in quicker, clearer and simpler ways, mosty through the use of written and visual media for eLearning and other EduTech channels. His technical competencies include creative digital project management, communication design and strategy, content marketing, graphic and visual design, content creation and editing, brand management, digital marketing, and marketing research and analytics.
Suyi has four years of experience in digital communications. He was an Intermediate Developer in eLearning and Performance at Workforce Group in 2014 and a Senior Marketing and Communications Associate at PwC Nigeria until late 2017, where he won the CEO’s Performance Award in 2016 as recognition for optimising the firm’s online communications strategy.
Suyi is interested in EduTech and meeting Nigerian youth at their points of need for opportunity and learning through digital technology.
Kehinde Ayeni, Manager, Corporate Communications and Public Relations
Kehinde Ayeni manages the organization’s Communications and Public Relations. She has over seven years’ experience in corporate communications, strategy development, digital marketing, corporate branding and public relations.
She earned her first degree in Geography and Education from the University of Ilorin and has a certificate in Advanced Skills Programe from School of Media and Communications of the Pan African University (now Pan Atlantic University) and a certificate in Sustainability Workshop for NGOs and Corporate Organizations from PAU.
Kehinde is an advocate for social good and promotes debates and causes on themes related to leadership development, social entrepreneurship, economic development and youth development.
Uchechukwu Ivoko, Manager, Accounts, HR and Admin
Uchechukwu Ivoko is the Accountant for LEAP Africa Ltd/Gte. She is an Accounting graduate from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. She is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
Uche’s career began as an Audit Trainee and subsequently as an Audit Senior at SIAO Partners, an indigenous firm of chartered Accountants where she led teams in Accounting and Audit engagements for companies of various sizes including Non-profit organizations, This enabled her her to acquire relevant Accounting Skills.
Uche began her career in the Non profit organisations at International Organization for Migration where she served as a Finance Analyst. She brings with her specialized skills and accounting knowledge as it relates to Grant Accounting, Donor accounting, Budget management and IFRS.
Uche has also attended several IFRS trainings and has a working knowledge of its application. She is very passionate about social development as it relates to young people who are the true leaders of tomorrow and she believes that young people and businesses in Africa can be impacted through developmental programs to become leaders and change our continent.
‘Sogo Oyesode, Project Manager, LEAP Institute
Chiamaka Oguonu, Senior Programme Coordinator, Youth LEAP
Chiamaka holds a Bachelors’ degree in Economics from the University of Abuja and a Master’s degree in Development Economics and Policy from University of Manchester, United Kingdom.
Prior to joining LEAP Africa, she worked as a Senior Associate in the Management Consulting practice of KPMG Advisory Services where she specialized in business strategy articulation, business plan development, market research/ feasibility studies, business diagnostics, organizational transformation, cost optimisation and customer service advisory.
She’s a certified project management professional with experience in coordinating nationwide projects and leading dynamic multicultural teams. Chiamaka has volunteered in various capacities in line with her major causes of interest – youth employability, education, business startup advisory and enterprise development. She is also passionate about social impact assessment of development/national policy.
Chiamaka is a member of the Project Management Institute International.
Her career aspirations are to stir African youth to creatively seek solutions to social challenges and to help build sustainable businesses.
Chinenye Etoniru, Programme Coordinator, Youth LEAP
Chinenye Etoniru is a youth programmes coordinator at LEAP Africa. In this capacity, she plans and delivers youth programmes and also facilitates youth development training across Nigeria. She has 4 years’ experience managing youth development programmes in Nigeria.
Before joining LEAP, Chinenye served as coordinator of a faith-based youth group in the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where she counselled teenagers, planned and implemented youth camps and programmes. Her core skills lie in the area of curriculum development, programme management, programme design and facilitation. She is currently responsible for managing LEAP’s iLEAD Fellowship and LEAD THE WAY programmes.
Chinenye attended the University of Lagos and the Nigerian Law School, Lagos where she obtained a Bachelor of Law Degree (LL.B) and Barrister at Law degree (BL) respectively. She is also a Fellow of the Civil Society Leadership Institute programme, an initiative of the West African Civil Society Institute (WACSI).
Taiwo Olaniyan, Programme Coordinator; Biz LEAP
Taiwo Olaniyan is a Development Professional with keen interest in Social Enterprise Development and Innovative Entrepreneurship for private and non-private sector organizations. She is presently the Programme Coordinator for Biz LEAP and is passionate about fostering an enabling environment for SMEs as well as Entrepreneurship ecosystem growth and development in Nigeria. Her key competencies include Policy Analysis, Project & Programme Management, Business Growth Support and Multi-Stakeholder Team Management.
Taiwo holds a M.P.A. from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen Scotland and a first-class honours undergraduate degree in Political Science/Public Administration from Florida Memorial University, Miami Florida U.S.A.
Taiwo also bagged several academic awards such as National Dean’s List, Who’s Who Among Students In American Colleges & Universities and has been a recipient of several meritorious scholarship awards such as Tom Joiner Foundation Scholarship, UNCF/Target Stores Scholarship, Aberdeen Business School Merit Based Scholarship, to name a few.
Her career aspiration is to lead young African Entrepreneurs into developing their full potentials.
Nissi Madu, Programme Coordinator, eLEAP
Nissi Madu is in her role as Programme Coordinator, eLEAP develops e-learning solutions for LEAP Africa’s curriculum. She is a Computer Science graduate from Babcock University and a graduate member of the Computer Professionals of Nigeria.
She has worked as a Software Developer Intern at Interswitch Nigeria Limited where she worked on the development of various web applications and as a Pre-sales design specialist at Hafol Resources Limited designing access control and surveillance solutions for various organisations. This enabled her acquire relevant skills in the design and deployment of various technological solutions.
Nissi is driven by a desire to create value with her skills, particularly in the use of technology to improve access to interactive, engaging and quality content in the education sector. She is an alumnus of the Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative (CYFI) and The Siemens Stiftung/Do School Education Challenge Africa where she worked on Maths Simplified- a project aimed at improving students understanding of mathematics in Nigeria through the development of interactive DVD and designed a sustainable distribution model for Experimento in Africa, a product aimed at improving students understanding and interest in STEM subjects.
She brings with her relevant skills in e-learning design, user experience design, content development, and application development.
Daniel Emenahor, Programme Officer, Youth LEAP
Daniel Emenahor works as a Programme Officer, Youth LEAP which develops e-learning solutions for LEAP Africa’s curriculum. He is a Biochemistry graduate from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.
Prior to working with LEAP Africa, he worked as a Business and Sales analyst for Visacover where he worked on the technical integration for vehicle inspections for Uber and insurance sales for organisations and partners.
Daniel is passionate about people development especially in youth by providing the skills needed for personal transformation and excellence in their field. He started out in the social space organising various programmes in his alumnus. Daniel is an alumnus of the Daystar Leadership Academy and has attended other trainings.
Joy Amanabo, Project Officer
Joy Amanabo is the Project Officer for the iLEAD Fellows Programme in Akwa Ibom State. She holds a masters degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan where she focused her research on youth development and nation building. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Ilorin.
Having volunteered in the development space with organizations such as Sexual Offences Awareness and Victims Rehabilitation (SOAR) Initiative and Building Blocks of Peace Foundation, and as an International Citizens Service (ICS) alumnus, she was worked with youth on Youth Development, Gender-related and Peace Building programmes in communities across Nigeria.
Joy is highly driven and passionate about service to humanity and community development. She believes in a world without chaos or violence, and advocates for global peace.
Femi Abraham, Programme Officer
As a Programme Officer, Abraham designs and implements leadership-based programmes undertaken by the organization. Femi Abraham has worked as a business development analyst with Sams & Wright Consulting, where he developed market research report, strategy frameworks and pitch decks for businesses operating in the Asian and African markets. He has also worked as a power/communication network analyst at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport.Abraham served as the Editor-in-chief of the NYSC Editorial board and has led a couple of young, dynamic and social impact-driven group as an undergraduate student.
He is a 4-year MTN Foundation scholarship recipient. He was also among the 5 Nigerian students that qualified for the CERN-Geneva OpenLab contest. He won the Dr. Femi Oyewole Prize Faculty prize upon graduation.
Abraham holds a First Class degree in Physics Electronics from the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, and also finished top of his class & Faculty. He holds a certificate in management from the Lagos Business School. He is passionate about leveraging emerging technologies for social impact in Sub-saharan Africa. Femi brings with him reliable skills in social innovation management, research development , strategy development & implementation.
Sarah Ani, Human Resource Officer
Before joining LEAP, Sarah Ani has worked as a Human Resource Officer at GIL Automations and as HR Generalist at Ofserv. During this period she gathered vast and valuable experiences in HR Management & development, Operations Management, and Quality Management. She also has previous experience as a Facilitator, where she trained young people in Project Management and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) during her NYSC days.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Lagos, and has gone on to further her studies in Managerial Psychology with a focus on Organizational Development, Leadership and Human Resource Management.
She is passionate about helping in the development and empowerment of youths to discover and utilize their true potentials.
Deborah Falayi, Front Desk Officer
Deborah Falayi handles customer relations and service in her role as Front Desk Officer at LEAP Africa. She holds a National Diploma in Mass communication from the Lagos State Polytechnic in 2016 and has experience working as Secretary on her previous employment at Estymay Joint ventures. She spends her time educating young people in her community on Leadership.
