In this episode of the Youthful and Useful Podcast by LEAP Africa, we present an adaptation of a panel session that was hosted at the AfricaNXT 2023 event in Lagos. The panel was moderated by Funmilola Morankinyo, Communications Coordinator at LEAP Africa, and featured four panelists: Ellen Ukpi, Communications Manager at LEAP Africa, Tiwalola ‘TJ dots’ Olanubi, Founder of Dotts Media, Dr Munirat Antoinette Lecky, Educationist, Entertainer, and Entrepreneur, and Daniel Emanahor, Programmes Manager at the British Council. The discussion centered around the topic of building collaboration among youths across Africa for the Africa we want. The panelists shared their thoughts on the collaborative efforts that exist on the continent, the challenges that have been encountered, and the solutions that can be employed to overcome them. They also made projections about what the future of collaboration looks like for the continent. As citizens, it’s important that we contribute our quota towards bringing about the change we desire in our society, and this can be made possible by leveraging the power of collaboration. Through a case study of the Youth Day of Service (YDOS) hosted by LEAP Africa and in partnership with organizations across Africa, the panelists emphasized the importance of taking action and being useful in one’s community and beyond. Join us in this insightful conversation as we explore the gains, challenges, and solutions of collaboration among youths in Africa, and learn about the upcoming YDOS event coming up in August 2023.
